Discovering Canadian History One Station at a Time
My name’s Samuel Wood, and I am fascinated by the stories which shape the world in which I live. Often these are the stories of the English Renaissance, but having returned to Montreal after 18 years of studying and teaching in Britain, it is the stories behind the metro stations of Montreal that’s got me going at the moment.
I have written for the Daily Telegraph as well as chapters and articles for academic journals and collections. My most recent is “The Drama of Death and the Funeral of Henry VII”, which will be published later in 2012 in The Oxford Handbook to Early Tudor Drama by Oxford University Press.
I try to make snarky comments on my personal blog over here and calm myself with walks on the mountain, cooking, and the excessive (and increasingly unwarranted) purchase of stationery.
